Back In England

We're back in England, and due to arrive back at Bishop Justus at 0830.

Homeward Bound

We are currently aboard the ferry on our way back home.

Friday was spent at Lermoos, where the students enjoyed three hours of skiing in the morning, before returning to the hotel to pack.

Thursday

Today was our second day at Ehrwalder Alm.

Wednesday

Today we took to the slopes at Ehrwalder Alm. The snow continued to come down all day, making for great skiing conditions.

The students are getting lots of experience on the slopes and the instructors continue to be impressed with their progress.

Neuschwanstein Castle

This evening we took a candle lit walk into Germany to visit the castle from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

Tuesday

Today was a triumphant day on the slopes. During our last day at Biberweir, every student made a number of successful runs down the mountain.

Monday

After a very successful second day of skiing at Biberweir, the group took an evening trip to the Bavarian town of Füssen, for a chance to shop, followed by a pizza dinner.

Austrian Tradition

This evening we went on a short walk outside the hotel, to see an important local tradition known as the "burning of witches" (Hexenverbrennung). It's an old custom of driving the winter away with bonfires. The fire is made to drive the evil winter spirits from the fields and represents the people's yearning for warmth.

First Day on the Slopes

The students and staff have completed their first successful day of skiing.

Today we went to the Biberweir ski resort. The instructors were extremely pleased with the progress made by all of the students.

The Group Have Arrived

We have arrived in Austria.

We unloaded our luggage at 7am and went straight to the hire shop to get fitted for boots and skis.

Having had lunch back at the hotel, the children (and adults!) are now having organised fun in the snow, whilst the hotel staff prepare our rooms.

And we're off!

The coach has now left Bishop Justus, and we are on our way to the Eurotunnel.

Hoodies

The hoodies have arrived!

Countdown to departure

The Bishop Justus School Ski Trip 2013 departs for Austria this Friday.

The coach will be leaving from school at 13.30, and staff and students are all excited about the trip.
