Last Day

A great final morning of skiing. The students are now back at the hotel, packed and ready to go.

The coach will be leaving in an hour, and the children will be leaving here with some fantastic memories of their time on the slopes.

Skiing - Day 5

The last full day of skiing was another beautiful sunny day, and the students really enjoyed themselves up on the mountain.

Every student has made great progress during the week, with many of them moving up an ability group.

Tomorrow morning will be our last on the slopes, before returning to the hotel and departing Natz around 4pm.

Skiing - Day 4

Blue runs, red runs, black runs, jumps and slaloms; the Bishop Justus students have conquered them all. The sun continues to shine on the slopes, and the students are growing in confidence with every ski run.

This evening we took a trip into town just before dinner, so hopefully you'll have some nice souvenirs when your child returns. I just hope you like chocolate. That's if it survives the journey home.

After dinner, and the fun continues with games aplenty. Although Mr Quinton and Mr Gray reign supreme at table football.

Skiing - Day 3

Another great day of skiing with clear skies and sunshine. All the groups are doing really well on the slopes, and their instructors are really pleased with their progress.

After dinner this evening, staff and students took part in a candlelit walk around the town. The children really enjoyed the experience, which ended in the town square with disco dancing with the locals.

Skiing - Day 2

We had fantastic conditions for our second day of skiing, with plenty of sun and some fresh powder.

All four ski groups are progressing well, with two of the groups getting to explore more of the resort during the morning session.

Skiing - Day 1

Despite some low visibility and light snow fall for the best part of the day, all groups had a successful first day of skiing.

Although they were tired on return to the hotel, all of the students are looking forward to getting back on the slope tomorrow.

Morning - Day 1

With a small amount of snow falling in the early hours, we're set for a great day of skiing. More updates to follow.

Safe Arrival

Apologies for the lateness - wifi connection isn't the greatest - but we have arrived safe and sound. In fact, we've been here since around 7am.

Having dropped off our bags, we went straight to the ski hire shop to pick up our gear. On our return we unpacked and had lunch.

The group took a nice long walk around the village this afternoon, to get some much needed fresh air after a very long coach journey.

The students are now settling in for the night, exhausted and excited for their first day on the slopes tomorrow.

Wifi connection permitting, look forward to some updates, and hopefully some photos, tomorrow.

Design a Hoodie

The countdown for the 2015 Bishop Justus School Ski Trip has begun.

We want you to have your input into the design of the new ski trip hoodie. Draw out your designs using the template and hand them in to Mr Gray. Don't forget to include which colour you would like for the hoodie.

Clothing and Equipment

Ski Wear

Essential - your child will not be allowed to ski unless they have all of the following ski wear:

• One complete ski outfit - an all-in-one ski suit or ski jacket and trousers.
• Ski socks - at least three pairs
• Ski goggles
• Ski gloves - they must be proper gloves for skiing

The following are highly recommended:

• Thermal top and bottoms
• A hat and snood or scarf are highly recommended
• Appropriate footwear for walking on snow - they should be waterproof and have suitable grip

Candlelit Walk

On Wednesday evening, students and staff took a candlelit walk across the border and into Germany.
 

Day 5 - Berwang

Back in England

Students and staff have just arrived back in England and heading back to school.

Day 4 - Ehrwald

The students continued to progress well with their skiing, in very challenging conditions at Ehrwald. Continuous snow fall made for low visibility on the slopes, but the students all did very well.

Unfortunately, due to the weather, there won't be any video footage from today.
